Do I Need a Parent or Childhood Records for an Adult Autism Evaluation?

Adult autism evaluations can still be informative when a parent is unavailable or childhood records are limited.

Developmental information is helpful in an autism evaluation, but it can come from many sources. School records, report cards, family stories, personal memories, and longstanding patterns may each contribute useful context.

When a parent or childhood documentation is unavailable, the clinician can discuss other ways to understand early development. The evaluation is tailored to the information that can reasonably be obtained.
